Editing your Brand DNA

How to manually adjust tone, audience, palette, products, and keywords.

Brand DNA extraction is a starting point, not the final word. You can edit every field to fine-tune how Mani generates for your brand. Most users make 2-5 edits after their initial extraction to dial in their preferred output.

What you can edit

  • Tone descriptors: Add or remove adjectives. "Bold, technical, founder-voiced" generates differently than "warm, approachable, conversational." You can have up to 5 tone descriptors. The order matters: the first descriptor has the strongest influence.
  • Audience description: The more specific, the better. "DTC founders doing $1-10M revenue on Shopify" generates tighter copy than "ecommerce businesses." Include demographics, psychographics, and pain points for the best results.
  • Color palette: Click any color swatch to open the color picker. You can also paste hex codes directly. The palette supports up to 5 colors: primary, secondary, accent, text, and background. Generated visuals use these colors exclusively.
  • Products: Add products the scanner missed. Remove products you do not want featured in ads. Edit names, descriptions, and prices. Each product can also have a URL that links to its product page for export CTAs.
  • Keywords: Add industry terms, competitor names, or phrases you want included in ad copy. Remove irrelevant ones. Keywords influence the vocabulary used in generated headlines and body copy.
  • Visual style: Describe your preferred photography style, layout approach, and design patterns. Examples: "clean product-on-white photography," "lifestyle shots with natural lighting," or "bold typography-forward designs."

How edits affect generation

Changes take effect immediately on new generations. Existing ads in your library keep their original Brand DNA snapshot. The daily queue uses your latest Brand DNA starting the next morning. This means you can safely experiment with edits without affecting already-approved content.

Resetting to extracted values

If you want to undo manual edits, click "Re-scan" on your Brand DNA card. This runs a fresh extraction from your website and overwrites all manual changes. Your generation history and approved library are not affected by a re-scan.
