Tracking new competitors

Add and manage the competitors Brand Radar monitors.

Your competitive landscape changes over time. New players enter your market, existing competitors pivot their strategy, and some become less relevant. Here is how to keep Brand Radar current and focused on the competitors that matter.

Finding competitors to track

Start with your direct competitors: brands selling similar products to similar audiences at similar price points. These are the competitors whose ads your potential customers also see. Then add aspirational competitors: brands whose creative quality you admire, even if they are in adjacent categories. Aspirational competitors often use creative approaches worth adapting for your own brand. Finally, consider adding one or two disruptive newcomers in your space, even if they are small today. Their creative approaches can signal emerging trends.

Adding a competitor

Go to Brand Radar > Add Competitor. Enter their URL or Facebook Page name. Mani scans their public ad presence and begins tracking within 24 hours. The initial scan pulls their last 30 days of ads and builds a baseline profile of their format mix, hook patterns, and posting frequency. From that point forward, new ads are detected daily.

Removing a competitor

Go to Brand Radar > Manage. Click the X next to any competitor to remove them from tracking. Their historical data stays in your archive for 90 days in case you want to re-add them. After 90 days, the data is permanently deleted. Removing a competitor frees up a competitor slot on your plan.

Competitor insights over time

The longer you track a competitor, the richer the insights become. Brand Radar builds a profile of each competitor including their dominant formats, posting frequency, seasonal patterns, messaging themes, and creative evolution. After 90 days of tracking, you get trend data showing how their strategy has shifted. Use this intelligence to differentiate your creative from theirs and spot opportunities they are missing.

Refreshing competitor data

Brand Radar checks each competitor daily for new ads. If you notice a competitor launched something and it is not appearing, click "Refresh" on their profile to trigger an immediate scan. Refreshes typically complete within 5 minutes.
