The one metric that tells you if mani is working
CTR is vanity. Here is the metric that actually proves AI-generated ads are worth your time.
Most founders track CTR (click-through rate) to evaluate ad performance. CTR is a vanity metric. It tells you how clickable your ad is. It does not tell you if those clicks convert to revenue.
The metric: blended ROAS by creative type
Compare your mani-generated ads against your previous creative (manual design, Canva templates, agency output) on one metric: blended ROAS. Revenue generated divided by ad spend, reconciled across platforms.
If mani-generated ads produce ROAS within 20% of your best manual ads at 10% of the time cost, the math works overwhelmingly in favor of volume. You can produce 10x more creative at the same quality floor, which means 10x more testing, which means faster convergence to winners.
How to measure it
Tag your mani-generated ads in your ad platform (use a naming convention like '[MANI] Headline - Format'). After 7 days with at least $200 spend per variant, compare blended ROAS against your '[MANUAL]' tagged creative.
Most users see parity or slight improvement within 2 weeks. The improvement comes not from individual ad quality (which is comparable) but from testing velocity (more variants per week = faster winner discovery).
That is the end of the welcome sequence. From here: weekly newsletter with AI ad trends, creative patterns that work, and product updates.
