What is Social Proof?

Evidence that other people trust your brand: reviews, testimonials, star ratings, customer counts, press logos. Social proof ads outperform standard ads by up to 4x on CTR.

In mani: Mani generates social proof ad formats from your review data and customer testimonials.

Types of social proof

Six types that work in advertising: customer reviews (star ratings + text), testimonials (named quotes with photos), user counts ("Join 50,000+ brands"), press mentions (media logos), expert endorsements (industry authority quotes), and UGC (customer-created content). Each type serves a different trust function: reviews prove satisfaction, user counts prove popularity, press proves legitimacy, and UGC proves real-world usage. Use multiple types across your ad mix.

Social proof in ad creative

Social proof ads outperform standard ads by up to 4x on CTR. The most effective formats: review highlight cards (single powerful review on branded background), star rating overlays (4.8 stars from 2,000+ reviews on product images), testimonial videos (customer speaking to camera), and number-driven headlines ("Why 50,000 brands switched to [product]"). Place social proof early in the creative, ideally within the hook. Do not bury it in the body copy.

Collecting and using social proof

Automate review collection with post-purchase email flows (day 7-14 after delivery). Incentivize with small discounts on next purchase (10-15% coupon for a review). Curate the best reviews into a "proof library" for ad creative. Tag reviews by theme (quality, speed, value, customer service) so AI tools can pull the right proof for the right ad angle. A library of 50+ categorized reviews gives AI enough material to generate months of social proof creative.
