Connect mani to Figma
Before you start
- ☐ A Figma account (Free or paid)
- ☐ A mani account (any plan)
- ☐ At least 1 Figma file with brand assets
Setup steps
Generate a Figma Personal Access Token
In Figma, go to Account Settings > Personal Access Tokens > Generate.
What good looks like
A token string displayed (copy immediately, it will not show again).
Common errors
Token is single-use display. If lost, generate a new one.
Connect in mani
Settings > Integrations > Figma > Connect. Paste the token.
What good looks like
Connected with your Figma username displayed.
Common errors
Token must be from the account that owns the design files.
Select brand files
Browse your Figma files and select the ones containing brand assets (logos, color palette, typography samples).
What good looks like
Selected files show with thumbnail previews.
Common errors
Shared files may require editor access for full sync.
Sync brand assets
Click Sync. Mani pulls colors, typography, and logo assets from the selected Figma files.
What good looks like
Brand palette updates in your Brand DNA with Figma-sourced colors.
Common errors
Complex Figma components may not fully parse. Stick to simple color and text frames.
Verify in Brand DNA
Go to your Brand DNA card. Colors and typography should reflect your Figma brand guide.
What good looks like
Palette matches your Figma design system.
Common errors
If colors are wrong, check which Figma file was synced.
What you can do once connected
Troubleshooting
Token expired
Figma tokens do not expire, but they can be revoked. Generate a new one if connection fails.
Colors not matching
Mani reads fill colors from top-level frames. Nested components may not be parsed. Flatten complex color structures.
File access denied
Ensure the Figma file is owned by or shared with the account that generated the token.
Disconnect
Settings > Integrations > Figma > Disconnect. Or revoke the Personal Access Token in Figma Account Settings.
Questions
Is this a live sync?+
No. Sync is manual. Click Sync when you update your Figma brand assets. Automatic sync is on the roadmap.
Can I sync component libraries?+
Mani reads colors and text styles from components. Complex component variants may not fully parse.
Does mani modify my Figma files?+
No. Mani reads only. We never create, edit, or delete content in your Figma files.
Which Figma plan do I need?+
Any plan including Free. Personal Access Tokens are available on all Figma plans.
