Connect mani to Shopify

Before you start

  • A Shopify store with at least 1 published product
  • A mani account (Free plan or above)
  • Admin access to your Shopify store

Setup steps

Log in to your mani dashboard

Go to maniai.com and sign in. If you do not have an account, sign up for free.

What good looks like

You see your dashboard with the Brand DNA scanner.

Common errors

If the dashboard is blank, clear your browser cache and try again.

Navigate to Integrations

Click Settings in the sidebar, then Integrations.

What good looks like

You see a list of available integrations including Shopify.

Common errors

If you do not see Integrations, check that you are on Starter plan or above.

Click Connect Shopify

Click the Connect button next to Shopify. You will be redirected to Shopify's OAuth page.

What good looks like

Shopify asks you to authorize mani to access your store.

Common errors

If you get an error, ensure you are logged into the correct Shopify store.

Authorize mani

Review the permissions requested (read products, read orders, read store info) and click Install App.

What good looks like

You are redirected back to mani with a 'Connected' badge on Shopify.

Common errors

If authorization fails, check that you have admin access to the Shopify store.

Verify the connection

Go to Brand DNA and run an extraction using your Shopify store URL.

What good looks like

Products from your Shopify catalog appear in the Brand DNA extraction.

Common errors

If products are missing, wait 5 minutes for the sync to complete.

Generate your first Shopify ad

Click Generate and select a product from your catalog. Choose Meta Feed format.

What good looks like

An ad appears with your product name, price, and brand colors.

Common errors

If the ad references the wrong product, check your Brand DNA product list.

Export to Meta Ads Manager

Approve the ad and click Export > Meta. Select your ad account.

What good looks like

The ad appears in your Meta Ads Manager creative library.

Common errors

If Meta is not connected, go to Settings > Integrations > Meta first.

Enable daily queue sync

In Settings > Queue, enable 'Include Shopify products.' The daily queue will feature your Shopify products.

Daily queue settings show 'Shopify products: enabled.'

Common errors

If the toggle is not visible, ensure the Shopify connection is active.

What you can do once connected

·New product launch: add a product in Shopify, mani generates launch ads within 24 hours.
·Seasonal collections: tag products by season, generate collection-specific ads.
·Price change ads: update a price in Shopify, regenerate ads with the new price.
·Cross-sell campaigns: generate ads featuring complementary products from your catalog.
·BFCM preparation: bulk-generate ads for all discounted products.

Troubleshooting

Products not syncing

Wait 5 minutes after connecting. If still missing, disconnect and reconnect. Shopify syncs products on a 15-minute cycle.

Wrong product images

Mani uses the first image in your Shopify product listing. Reorder images in Shopify to set the preferred image first.

OAuth error during connection

Ensure you are logged into Shopify as an admin. Staff accounts with limited permissions may not authorize apps.

Connection shows as disconnected

Shopify may have revoked the app token. Go to Shopify > Apps > mani and reinstall.

Brand DNA does not match Shopify store

Re-run Brand DNA extraction with your Shopify URL. Ensure the URL is your live storefront, not your admin URL.

Disconnect

Go to Settings > Integrations > Shopify > Disconnect. Alternatively, remove mani from Shopify Admin > Apps. Your Brand DNA and generated ads are preserved. Only the live product sync stops.

Questions

Do I need a paid Shopify plan?+

Yes. Mani connects via Shopify's API which requires a paid Shopify plan. Development stores work for testing.

Which Shopify data does mani access?+

Products (name, description, price, images), store info (name, URL), and basic order data (for retargeting). We never access customer personal data.

Can I disconnect at any time?+

Yes. Go to Settings > Integrations > Shopify > Disconnect. Or remove mani from Shopify > Apps.

Does this work with Shopify Plus?+

Yes. No differences in setup. Shopify Plus merchants get the same integration.

How often do products sync?+

Every 15 minutes. New products appear in mani within 15 minutes of being published in Shopify.

Can I use mani for Shopify email marketing?+

Yes. Generate email subject lines and hero images from your Shopify Brand DNA. Export and use in Klaviyo or Shopify Email.

Is there a Shopify app store listing?+

Coming soon. Currently connect via Settings > Integrations in your mani dashboard.

What happens if I delete a product in Shopify?+

It is removed from your Brand DNA product list on the next sync. Existing ads referencing the product are not affected.
